Christmas, Josh 4th Birthday and New Year

All the family

Together again after 2 years

We had a wonderful Christmas with everyone together for the first time in 2 years! Although in the last 2 years we have seen Aaron and Jess and their families we haven't all been together although there was one time when just Steve was missing!

The family nativity

Christmas Eve saw the Carneys leave for Idaho and we busied ourselves getting last minute things done. We did find time to read the Christmas story, well Steve narrated while the others did a nativity, Josh really loved! We also carried on with another family tradition that Aaron and Kimmy have also adopted and that is the giving of a gift usually pajama's or slippers, so we can sleep in nice PJ's Christmas night and look good Christmas morning :-)

Christmas Eve present opening

An excited Josh on Christmas morning

We didn't get up too early Christmas morning and we took longer then usual to open presents mainly because we didn't go to Church as no services are held here and we really miss it :-(

Jess, Ben and Jack visited with us twice - on their way to Idaho and their way home. The 3 days before Christmas and one after. Much fun was had, walks, temple, gift exchanging, cousins playing pretty well, eating out, bowling, game playing and 'Rock Band'.

My beautifully wrapped gifts

I managed to make a Christmas cake but because I left it till mid December to make it didn't have chance to mature and go dark, although Kimmy liked it better like that. I also made Mince pies and Sausage rolls (a family tradition). However I cheated and purchased a Christmas pudding from the London Market in Salt Lake.

Our 3 beautiful girls Beth, Kimmy and Jessie

Aaron, Kimmy and the kiddies went to visit with Kimmy's family while we spent some time phoning family back in England which we have missed seeing this year.

I cooked Christmas dinner with the exception of the turkey which kimmy prepared and cooked and we were joined by Kimmy's family and Grandma. They enjoyed my English Christmas dinner, even the pudding, mince pies and cake!

Boxing day isn't celebrated here, so Kimmy and I headed to the after Christmas sales to exchange some clothing and got twice as much for our money I love bargains!

Birthday boy Josh letting us know how old he is

Josh with his Thomas birthday cake

Sunday the 27th was Joshy's 4th birthday, we were joined by kimmy's family and we all enjoyed a yummy spaghetti dinner made by Kimmy and followed by a Thomas Tank Engine ice cream cake.

We spent New Years Eve together just the 5 of of us (Steve, Beth, Aaron, Kimmy and me) playing games and eating lots of naughty food.

New Years Day and we went sledding and we had a lot of fun. Steve, Beth, Aaron and Josh are real dare devils and they couldn't get enough.

look they are off the ground!

I have to say I was a bit of coward because of the craziness of some peoples stupidity. Like walking up the hill that people are sledding down instead of walking up the side of the hill. Also once they get the bottom of the hill not moving out of the way and then getting mad when someone runs into them. My friend recently told me I had good cause to be a coward as her daughter ended up in ER with head injury (over 30 stitches) from sledding when she was 6 (she is now 17) and another time her son ended up with a broken hand!

You make me want to move home and be around family again. There is nothing better than our summers home where I can hang out with my sisters. I am so happy you get to have them all around you again.
