An eventful few days!

Well on Saturday I had had my purse stolen out of my handbag while I was doing my weekly shopping in Sainsbury's. The person that did it was very quick in deed as I didn't see or feel a thing and only found out when I went to pay for my shopping, but from now on I will be more careful and zip my purse in a compartment within my bag which I will not let out of my site.

My beautiful anniversary flowers have since I received them last Thursday continued to bloom and smell gorgeous and I have them on desk as that is were I spend a fair amount of time!

As you are aware we Presburys living at Blackbrook Farm House (bbhf) love animals and have quite a few. From the smallest Milly Beth's hamster to our two Horses Cyril (Ciz) and China (Chine), we call them the Gents as they aren't so young Ciz is 17 and Chine 24 and because on the whole they are perfect gentleman. Cyril is Beth's horse and Steve and I share China (well that was the plan but i'm only just starting to get to know Chine). Well you see Beth has been on mission recently to get me back in the saddle, as I hadn't ridden since last summer when I fell off (my fault not the horse) and badly bruised my hip and not surprisingly I lost my nerve.

I would tell her 'I'm getting old and when I fall off I won't bounce like you do', remember last summer, but there was no letting up. She would tell me that these horses are good, well behaved they what is known as school masters (they have done most things) and it would help me get fit and loose weight. But I still resisted because I doubted my ability as I didn't even feel confident enough handling these two relatively new large horses of ours. So then she suggested if I help her muck them out, change their coats, feed and water them, handle them more I would be more comfortable around them and want to ride.

It started to work ever so slowly and I thought well I can see myself riding by spring/summer, but oh no Beth had other plans and wasn't going to let up. So when we were forcast some lovely spring like weather last weekend she up the pressure to a new level, saying 'Oh Mum you really don't know how much it would mean to me to have you ride with me'. So on Sunday after returning home from church in brilliant warm sunshine, Beth said can we go for a walk, Dad with the dogs and me and you can ride Mum. I found myself saying well if you and Dad go a ride first and tire them out and I will go for a short ride afterwards, BUT only walking.

So that is what we did and I rode for about half an hour and even trotted (I sound like a novice don't I?) and I didn't fall off and I did enjoy it. So today two days later Beth gets me riding again this time we rode out and into Shepshed on the roads. Next week she will have me out on the local hunt or jumping a 4 foot fence!

I want to tell you briefly about our youngest cat Smurf, he is Beth's baby he loves her to bits and follows her everywhere. He even brings her gifts of dead mice and when she shuts him in the cat room (a room where we have a cat flap to the outside and the 3 cats get put in there at night and when we are out) he kicks his present under the door. The picture is off Smurf doing some work on Beth's computer at times he is. I have decided to post some of pictures of our animals down the side of our blog.
