The fun continues with Jess, Ben and Jack……

Jess and Ben’s trip to England came about because Ben was able to do a study abroad programme for 2 weeks with BYU. So Ben spent a part of the first 2 weeks in London with several of his fellow students and professors. However he was able to meet up with us the middle week in London, where we spent time on the tube, the Natural History Museum and then to see the musical Wicked which is aptly name it was absolutely wicked. It was a birthday treat for Jess, who being very much into musical theatre had wanted to see the show ever since it first hit Broadway. I found out by chance some months ago that it was showing in London, so I quickly purchased some tickets. We had a wonderful day the weather was warm and sunny, Sarah my sister kindly looked after Jack which he loved as he got to spend more time with his cousins. This weekend saw us receiving more old friends, Heather (nee Hinckley) and Sergio Limon, Heather served as a missionary in our ward 18 years ago and again we had visited with her in the states on a few occasions, this was their first visit to the UK since her mission.

When Jess knew they were coming to England she contacted her old school and arranged with her dance teacher to go in and teach several lessons to GCSE and A-level students, this meant Jess had a blast and Steve and I got some one on one time with our gorgeous grandson Jack. I have to tell you Jack is just such a character but that is hardly surprising considering who is parents are right? He is so animated talking in his gibberish language constantly, he is such a happy little boy and it was hard to keep our hands and eyes off him. As parents you worry when your children start a family just because you remember the nervousness and anticipation when you first started having children. It was evident very early on in our time with Jess and Ben that they are doing wonderfully with Jack. We are proud of both of our married children and their spouses as we observe them striving to live righteous lives as they raise their children. We are excited to have Aaron, Kimberly and Joshua coming over to spend time with us in September yippee.

The second week of their visit was a school holiday for Beth so she was just so excited to be able to spend some time with big sis Jess. Beth was really looking forward to riding out with Jess, as she knew Jess would be excited to ride our 2 current horses which he have had since Jess was last here. So come rain or shine she rode at least twice they did ride in the rain. Beth was impressed that Jess hadn’t lost any of riding abilities in spite of not having ridden for some time. The funniest was the fact that Beth said she wanted to ride out with Ben before she was happy for him to ride out with Jess. You see Beth’s thinking is that these horses are thoroughbreds and not plodders like our old horses, so she needed to make sure Ben was up for riding them and I have to say Beth was very impressed with his riding ability, considering its English style where balance is required. So he got the thumbs up to ride with Jess! Jack also loved the animals as you will see from my photos, from the smallest Millie the hampster to Cyril and China the horses.
