Yesterday saw my 48th birthday and the celebrations began on Friday evening when Steve and Beth presented me with a gift, which I promptly unwrapped to find ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’ DVD. We had a fun evening watching it (for the 2nd or even 3rd time, but it is such a good movie), eating several chocolate treats! Then on Saturday I had an over due hair appointment and on my return mid afternoon, I was greeted with another gift, this time it was a homemade voucher, so as you can see from the photo I was in for a fun evening. We had delicious pasta at Frankie and Bennie’s before heading to the movies to see ‘Mama Mia’ for those of you that haven’t seen you really must. There are a few dodgy bits but it is very funny and the music is incredible and it took all my effort not to get up sing and dance, but as we had gone to the 6pm showing we seemed to be surrounded by old people. Beth is desperate to go again to one of the sing along shows so maybe we will do that this week.
Yesterday I opened gifts in bed with Steve and Beth singing happy birthday to me before getting up and heading off to church, I also received over 10 cards in the post over the previous week from family and friends far and wide and it was fun to announce who the cards were from before opening because I recognised the writing. I was thoroughly spoilt with gifts, money, PJ’s, slippers, weekend bag, handbag, necklace, candle, flowers, socks, make-up bag, make-up mirrior, make-up and lots of chocolate. Then at church I was presented with several gifts (already mentioned above) and cards, to the point that it was hard to hide the fact that it was my birthday. Our dear friends Tim and Ann Corbin invited us for dinner knowing it was my birthday and we spent a lovely afternoon together, Ann is a real good cook. I feel very loved and blessed to have such a wonderful family and friends, but I have missed seeing Aaron, Kimberly, Joshua, Jess, Ben and Jack, although thanks to technology I was able to speak to them yesterday and they both sung happy birthday to me over the phone. Today is a holiday which meant we got to sleep in which we did till 8.30am. Beth and I went and finished off shopping for school clothes this afternoon and now we are going to have a quiet evening and watch a movie before the start of a busy week.
One final thing after much research on my behalf we purchased a second hand 3 year old horse trailer (Ifor Williams 505 if anyone is interested). To say Beth is very excited is an understatement, as this means she can go to a lot more horse events with Cyril as we no longer have to borrow one.
