The best gift that was nearly forgotten….

Well as you are aware from my previous post it was my birthday last Sunday and feeling very loved and spoiled I had listed my gifts, but in the excitement of things I had missed the best gift of all ~ A CD specially prepared for me by my beautiful daughter Jessica Emily. Several weeks ago Jess asked me what I would like for my birthday and I said oh I don’t mind to which she replied, so if I get you a snake you would be ok with that? To which I replied I will think about it and let you know, telling her a few days later that I would like a make-up mirror to fit in my make-up bag. So a package arrived 2 days before my birthday from Jess and being a good girl I put it to one side and opened it will my other gifts on Sunday morning. Well the package contained a pretty little box with a double compact mirror and 2 really nice eye shadows, there was also a beautiful hand made card. I also noted a homemade CD and 2 sheets of folded A4 paper. I’m ashamed to say I barely looked at it because of the lack of time and the need to finish up and get ready for church, I thought I will look at that later and left it on my bedside table until I put it in my handbag the following morning thinking I will check that out later that day.

Well today while driving to Leicester with Beth she asked me “Have you listened yet to that CD from Jess?” To which I thought oh heck no I haven’t, remembering it was in my bag I suggested that Beth get it out. As she placed it in the player she read what was written on the CD ‘ A Song for Every Mood – Mum’s Birthday Mix 2008’. I quickly realised that this was no ordinary CD but one that my loving daughter had taken time to prepare especially for me, carefully selecting a wide range of songs and music listing them 1-14 on the sheets of folded paper. She had also carefully included the title of each song into a meaningful sentence.

Thanks Jessie, you are so talented and full of wonderful idea’s, I love you and really appreciate this wonderful gift.

I want to share a few of them (the song title is in bold and CAPITALS)

When you listen to EVERYTHING, think about those in your life that are your everything and tell them you love them.

LOVE YOU I DO! Yes, I love you and so do lots of people.

FIELDS OF GOLD always makes me reflect upon the many blessings I have.

When you listen to FOR GOOD think about those who have made an impact on your life and how you are different because of them.

Always remember that we are SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW thinking of you.

As you CONSDIER THE LILIES consider all that Heavenly Father has done for you and how you can better utilize Christ’s Atonement so that your heart can be as gold.

There are some fun ones too like ~
LOLLIPOP - (which is a real fun song) is sure to make you SMILE

BIG GIRL (you are beautiful) I agree with Mika, it’s no fun hugging bones – not sure what she is telling me here!

I also want to mention how blessed I feel to have 3 beautiful daughters Jessica, Beth and Kimberly (my adorable daughter-in-law). They are not only beautiful in appearance but they have beautiful spirits and I love and treasure them more than words can express. I really feel deprived of not seeing Jess and Kimmy very often and see them in action as mothers, but the little I see of them I know they are doing a great job in raising those little boys Joshua and Jack our grandsons, with incredible patience and love.

Oh a precious gift. You have such a talented daughter! I am sure she is that way because of her incredible parents. It seems like I need to ask you for your advice when it comes to parenting. I should have asked, what would you have done about "Mamma Mia?!" I love this idea, I think I will steal it for my own mom's birthday. The amazon.com gift cards aren't so thoughtful anymore.
