Our Trip to Utah

Beth and I had the chance to go to travel back with Kimberly and Josh on Saturday 11th. We had a good journey arriving into Salt Lake City around 9pm. Aaron met us at the airport where he found a very excited Joshua who had been missing his daddy.

Sunday morning we woke to a couple of inches of snow, luckily I had taken a pair of smart boots and the snow was gone by the end of the day. We had a yummy roast beef dinner with Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes cooked by Kimmy and then Jess, Ben and Jack came over bringing dessert an apple pie made by Jess. It was fun to spend time together watch our Josh and Jack play and have bath together.

We divided our time between Aaron and Kimberly in Lehi and Jess and Ben in Provo and as always our time went too quickly. Although we had a lot of fun it was marred by the fact that Steve wasn’t with us, as he was home working and making it possible for us to be there. We did a lot of fun things – went to Corn Bellies a fun Halloween place, hiked up Provo Canyon, went to the movies, did a lot of shopping including most of my Christmas shopping and a drive through the mountains on the Alpine loop.

Ben taught Beth and me to shoot and rifle; which was pretty scary at first and Jess took Beth to BYU where she did a photo shoot, see photos below.

OUR BEAUTIFUL BETH

One beautiful sunny, warm afternoon, Jess, Beth and Jack couldn't resist having fun in the autumn leaves as you can see from some of the photos below.

AUTUMN FUN

We are a family that loves to play games and so at every opportunity that is what Beth had us doing, Pit, Apples to Apples and Pictionary, we often ended up in stitches. Oh and a lot of fun was had on the Wii especially by Aaron and Beth.

AN AFTERNOON RIDE WITH AARON, KIMBERLY & JOSH

But one of the most exciting things was to be with Kimberly when she had a scan to find out the sex of her baby that is due early April next year and it’s a girl, which is very exciting.

Jack loves him Mama and Auntie Beth so much that when he got a nasty stomach bug her gave it to us and so we weren’t in any fit state to travel when we due to fly home and so extended our stay by 2 days leaving on Sunday 27th. Our first flight with United from Salt Lake was delayed by 3 hours and as a consequence we missed our connection with BMI into Manchester and so ended up flying United into the dreaded Heathrow, finally arriving home at 2pm.
