Our new home in Herriman
We have been in our new home 4 weeks and we just love being here, not only do we have a lovely home but the area and neighbourhood is wonderful too. We are very grateful to Aaron and Kimberly for allowing us to live with them for 6 months; we had a blast and loved spending time with Josh and Rachael and of course Aaron and Kimmy.
Another angle of the house
There are so many things in our home that we have only ever dreamed of having in a house and I have to say that a lot of homes here have them so they aren't quite so unique as they would be in England. You definitely get more for your money here.
A view of the back
We had 10 fantastic years at Blackbrook Farm House with many wonderful memories, the animals we were able to have living there, the countryside, the walks, the parties and BBQ’s, but we are so happy to be here living in the USA and near our family again. We know we have been truly blessed because so many things could have gone wrong but didn’t and we just know we are meant to be here. We came very close to having our container sent back to England because the customs in Long Beach decided they wanted proof of our residency (un-heard of) and literally a couple of days before we had received a letter confirming we had been granted residency otherwise our container wouldn’t even have been taken of the ship! This made us realise why our residency had gone through so quickly.
The view from a our bedroom balcony
We love living in a house that can be heated or cooled (it will get pretty hot in the summer here) without huge expense!! We have gone from a huge garden with paddock and a tennis court to a much smaller garden that only takes half an hour to cut the grass. From wooden beams to vaulted ceilings, closed rooms to a large open living area, old fashioned bathrooms to a walk in shower and jetted bath tub and real fire places to fake ones (well at least we won’t have the smell of damp wood burning).
Our new bedding set

We were so excited to have our bed because prior to leaving England we ordered a new mattress from Ikea (we purchased the bed 10 years ago from Ikea), now you might think why not get one here in the USA. Well although Ikea is here your bed sizes are different to the UK and so it wouldn't fit. Our old bedding also needed replacing as it was several years old and faded, so purchased new bedding to bring here!
2 sinks so more fighting over who is going to clean their teeth first
Our Bathroom, we love the jetted tub and walk in shower
We love the large windows that allow in a lot of natural light and warmth, in fact it's been a bit too warm today ( and it's going to get much hotter) and we are going to have to blinds for the other windows too!

A view from the lounge area into the kitchen with a walk way to the what will be our
music room and the other to the garage and downstairs bathroom.
Our table looks lost in this large area
We hope to put in a window seat here
I particularly love the big kitchen with granite counter tops which I can cut on without marking them so I don’t have to use a chopping board! And Beth loves the walk in pantry, yet she still complains there isn’t any food to eat! I love cooking so I’m really excited about the double electric oven gas hobs, I have never had this combination before and I love it).
Yes that is the pantry in the back ground
Yes that is my microwave at waist level
I love the island makes cooking baking so much nicer
The kitchen at night, so cozy and inviting
We are grateful to have an unfinished basement because it has allowed us look fairly organised as we have put a lot of things down there to sort out at our leisure. We are using a old sofa that is Aaron and Kimmy’s (and another that we picked up real cheap) and one of their TV’s which is perched on a covered box. We hope in the next month to purchase a new sofa’s a TV and somewhere to put it! I will post photos when we get the lounge sorted.
Our fireplace and I think you can see what I mean when I say we need more blinds!
We love our new ward and our meeting house is also the stake centre which is just down the road! Our first Sunday here we knew this where we are meant to be it felt so right and we knew that had we not gone through all those houses that we looked at we wouldn't have found this one in this area. The Ward is just wonderful in every way; we have been made so welcome and have in the short time made some wonderful friends.
Beth with Wilbur and Nellie
We also have 2 new additions to our family 2 kittens brother and sister Wilbur and Nellie. They are adorable and extremely affectionate and love Beth as she does them. Beth too was excited to have her bed (Jessica's old double bed) and some new bedding because in England she had a single bed.
Beth's pink bedroom!
We are also very excited for Beth to have her own bathroom (well she had a bathroom in our old house but for some reason always used ours!)
Beth's green bathroom, she would have liked pink one!
