Maizie Moo our new puppy and remembering our pets that are no longer with us

We added a new and final member to our family (well for the foreseeable future) and she is a 6 week old boarder collie that we have named Maizie or Maizie Moo or Zee Zee (we have always had nick names for our animals).

She is so good and just adorable; her little black (and a little bit of white) body has a pink nose with a black spot on the end. she has a pink collar and lead and we have to carrier her for most of her walk. The funniest is to watch Maizie interacting with Wilbur and Nellie our young cats, I can see that very soon they will be the best of buddies. Well all I can say is Beth is just so happy you can't imagine.

So most you know just how much we love animals and how they have been a big part of our lives for many years.  It was very hard to say goodbye to our beloved pets when we moved although it was made easier knowing they went to good homes. We decided the best thing for Zak our 11 year old German Shepherd who was unable to walk very far, was going deaf and blind was to have him put to sleep. We didn't think it was right to re-home him with someone he didn't know in his last days and have that someone cope with him as he deteriorated  Steve did this a few days before he came over but after Beth and I left; I know that was very hard for him to do and he had hoped that Zak would go in his sleep, he was able to bury with at Blackbrook Farm House along with our many other animals buried there.

Such a handsome chap our Zak was

Our lovely Zeena, the goats and chickens went to live with our wonderful friends Gill and Pete although recently they had to re-home the naughty goats because they kept escaping and were in danger of causing an accident on the road, they now live on near by farm.

Our sweet Zeena

Dotty went to live with our friends the Head Family who in Loughborough.

Cyril and China are still together in Derbyshire with a great family.

I get very emotional when I think of all our animals especially those that have passed on and there are too many to mention, but then smile at the thought of our reunion with them all one day,

We lost our lovely Zoe a few years ago, she loved Steve and followed him everywhere

Oscar our rabbit catching Ginger tom, he was real farm cat

Smurf Beth's cat was sadly hit by a car at a young age

We sadly lost both Oscar and Smurf within a few months of each other just months before we moved.
